Side FX with lead singer, Kim Cameron (the ‘FX’ factor), is well known for exploring new sounds and combining rhythms and beats that together, offer the unexpected. This high energy dance band made Billboard Top 40 Charts in with ‘A Dance,’ top 40 in the Adult Contemporary Mediabase Charts in 2011 and 2012 they hit over 3.7 MILLION YouTube views. Over 2000+ stores play their music, National TV and films have licensed their songs and radio stations across the US, UK, Canada and Australia have added them to their playlists.
Their 4th album not only received 5 out of 5 stars, but was awarded Album of the Year. This year, their concert was placed on Comcast’s Xfinity, earning them Best Live Performance–it is no wonder they are referred to as Pop’s Fresh Edge!

Lead Singer and Songwriter
Kim Cameron is known for her songwriting, or ‘story telling’ as she puts it. All of her songs have been licensed, several have made it into top 40 radio charts, over a dozen have charted on CMJ and AAA stations. She has 4 albums completed and now writes for several network private catalogs.
She has toured across the country and internationally, performed in front of 68,000+ people on NFL’s 50 yard line, and been featured in books, magazines, radio and TV. She is also the founder and President of Side FX Partners, an independent record label that specializes in original music.
She is best known as ‘Side FX’ or as the FX factor as fans like to say.
John DePatie
Guitar / Songwriter
A veteran guitar player with over 25 years under his strings, John DePatie has seen the world. Touring heavily with Nancy Sinatra’s band across Europe and the US. John has opened for high powered bands Great White, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, The Blasters, Asia, Berlin, Stanley Clarke, and Blue Oyster Cult just to name a few.
As a trained Jazz musician, it is no wonder that Thomas R. Erdmann from jazzreview.com wrote, “John DePatie’s guitar work is exquisite. His perfect solos and background work on Travel By Stars, Play On, and Little T-Bird Ragtop show his ability to perfectly capture an emotion and run with it.”
Nick Kirk
Drums
Drummer since the age of 6, Nick has been dedicated to learning his craft for nearly 25 years. He has studied formally with many well respected educators and musicians including Bob Breithaupt, Al Wrubleski, John Spirtas, and Alphonso Young Jr. Nick has become a musical chameleon, playing anything from big band and combo jazz to classical symphony and chamber ensembles to acoustic and straight ahead rock and roll. Nick has performed for thousands of people in cities all along the east coast from Miami to New York City and DC/Baltimore to Pittsburgh/eastern Ohio.
Mark Deffenbaugh
Synth
Mark is a renown keyboardist, composer and producer who has specialized in Jazz, Rock, Hip Hop, and R&B. He began playing at age 16 then attended the Berklee College of Music where he studied with Jazz Great, Gary Burton. Mark has composed hundreds of pieces of music, including pieces for Sonata and Guitar. He has performed with Bill Pinkney (The Original Drifters), Little Anthony and The Imperials, Bobby Bennett, The Spinners Fay Hauser-Price, Clifton Davis, Don Gardner, Jerry Butler, Gene Chandler, Louis Price (former lead singer The Drifters/Temptations), Shirley Alston Reeves (The Shirelles), Charley Thomas (The Drifters), and Martha Reeves (formerly of the Vandellas) just to name a few.
In-between private Side FX gigs, he is the CEO of DreamLand Records, an independent record label dedicated to Jazz and Electronica Music.
Darrell Diaz
Keys
Darrell Diaz has been the man behind the music for many of today’s recording artists. In 1991, he emerged onto the professional music scene in Los Angeles as the keyboardist/synthesist with jazz legend Herbie Hancock. Since, then he has gone on to become a successful writer, producer, engineer, keyboardist and musical director with such artists as Kenny Lattimore, Stanley Clarke, Gerald Albright, Doc Powell, Howard Hewett, DMX, Stevie Wonder, Quincy Jones and now, Side FX
Andy Hamburger
Percussion
Andy is an award-winning drummer/percussionist from Washington, D.C. who has played with the Platters, Marvelettes, Drifters, Coasters, Ink Spots, Temptations and Harold Melvin’s BlueNotes, to name a few. He has a vast recording background with numerous CDs under his belt and a host of national commercials and movie trailers. His extensive career covers a broad range of musical styles, all of which bring a unique and driven rhythm to Side FX.
